FESTIVAL MISSION: To showcase performers of traditional folk music common to America, including old-time, bluegrass, Cajun, Irish, blues, and more and to bring together the essential supporters of American roots music in a historic beautiful setting.

SPONSORS: This event is sponsored by Geauga County Historical Society, Roadhouse Music, The Beachland Ballroom, and 89.7 WKSU. The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence, and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans.

EVENT DETAILS: Local and regional musicians will perform traditional folk music common to America in a continuous series of concerts throughout the day on one main stage beginning at noon. Workshops/performances will take place in the old church. There will be a fiddle contest beginning at 3:30 pm and a square dance to end the festivities. Everybody is welcome to dance - no experience necessary. All dances will be taught on the spot. The dance will run from approximately 6:30 pm until 8:30 pm. In addition to excellent music and historical exhibits, there will be kite flying and other activities for children. Food, refreshments, CDs from the performers, and festival t-shirts will be available for purchase. And as always, musicians are encouraged to bring their instruments. Spontaneous jamming is strongly encouraged. Admission is $6 for teens and adults, $3 for children 6-12 years old, and free for children under 5 years old. Tickets will be available at the gate on the day of the festival. Bring lawn chairs and blankets! If it rains, the event will take place inside, so don’t let any wet weather scare you away!

Square Dance - 6:30pm: Carrying on the yearly tradition, Lynn Frederick will call a square dance to end the day. Music by the Maple Hill Rounders.

Art: Some says it's worth it to go to the festival just to buy the t-shirt! Each year the festival t-shirt is designed by a talented local artist. This year's featured artist is Jeremy Wohlken originally from Burton, OH. See Jeremy's medicine show t-shirt design below! I think these are going to fly off the shelf!
